The journey from pile of flannel to cute kimono top pjs

These reversible kimono pajamas are cozy and cute!! They took me about 2 hrs from start to finish!! I made my own pattern from construction paper and measured my little princess twice before I cut anything. They turned out so cute and they will be perfect for the cold Minnesota winters!! I will altering the ballet slipper pattern I got from Jeni @ http://jensidea.blogspot.com/2011/07/ruby-red-slippers.html to make some warm slippers to go with, I will post them when I get them finished :-) Happy creating!!

Hard to top this!!

Princess wall art

Okay so here we have some of wall art created in about an hr using you guessed it, contact paper!!! I love the fact that I can peel it off and stick it somewhere else if and when I decide to move her furniture around. I love the look of the imperfect crown and scroll work. In fact this was the inspiration for the name of my blog, Imperfektly Perfekt! I hand painted it all onto contact paper, cut it out, removed the backing and pressed it to the wall. It was super easy and again exactly what I was looking for. All together this project only cost about $4.

Toddler bed fit for a princess

My little girl was growing out of her crib and we didn't want to pay the $70 dollars it was going to take just to get the conversion kit to toddler (which consists of two boards that match the finish of the crib and will only last at most a yr before we would have to go to a twin). That is when I started designing this bed. I knew I wanted an upholstered headboard and I wanted rails on the sides. Here it is almost finished!!! I love to go into her room and gathering more inspiration for wall art, by looking at her bed. The HUGE bonus is, she loves her new bed!! The bed took me a day to build and has taken me about two weeks to upholster, but that's just because I have a toddler. I would estimate the total cost including wood, screws, fabric and foam batting to be around $100. Not bad when you consider I got exactly what I wanted!! The next project which is already in the works is her bedding, which will perfectly match her headboard. I also created some wall art this morning in about an hr that is so cute and goes perfectly with her theme, PRINCESS!! I will be sharing that shortly in a separate post, so stay tuned!!
